EIU and young Ben Cat Town officials co-organized the finals of the contest “Let’s speak English” in the school year 2021-2022 on March 24, 2022.
The contest aimed to bring to secondary high school students and high school students a useful playground that will help improve their English skills and learn more interesting things.
After the qualifying round, the 7 best teams from four secondary high schools and three high schools in Ben Cat Town went thru to the Final Round.
The finals witnessed intense but attractive competitions namely Talent, Teamwork and Presentation. The jury selected the two best teams of each type: one from My Phuoc Secondary High School and the other from Ben Cat High School.
Commenting on the contestants in the contest, Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Nhi, lecturer, EIU School of Business Administration, a jury member, said she was quite surprised with their ability to speak English fluently. They have prepared very carefully and thoughtfully for their team.
Mr. Steven Owen, Academic Director of EIU Foreign Language Center (Campus at 6th floor of Becamex Building), another jury member, appreciated the contestants’ confidence and flexibility in handling problems and answering questions from the jury. He said he believed they would use English well in the future.
